Yoga in Messy Moments: Turning Guilt into Growth
We often imagine yoga as peace, calm, and balance — but what about the messy days? The ones filled with guilt, frustration, or regret?
In Episode 3 of Moment to Pause, I share a personal reflection on what it means to live yoga when life feels anything but perfect. For me, that sometimes looks like mother guilt — moments when I’m not as patient or present as I’d like to be.
But yoga philosophy reminds us that perfection isn’t the goal — presence is. Through the Yamas and Niyamas, especially Ahimsa (non-harm), Santosha (contentment), and Svādhyāya (self-study), we can meet ourselves with curiosity instead of criticism.
Journaling has become one of my most grounding practices. Writing freely — without judgment — helps me notice patterns and soften my reactions. It’s how I practice self-study off the mat.
This episode also includes a short guided meditation to release guilt and redirect energy toward compassion and connection.
Because yoga isn’t about never falling — it’s about how we rise, breathe, and begin again.
