Yoga & Ayurveda: The Art of Balance

Balance is a word we hear often — balance your work and rest, balance your energy, balance your life. Yet for many of us, balance can feel elusive, even exhausting, as though it’s another thing to get right.

In this episode of Moment to Pause, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Krishna, founder of Mylk & Butter Co, for a heartfelt conversation about Yoga and Ayurveda — two ancient practices that offer a very different perspective on balance.

Rather than asking us to strive for perfection, Yoga and Ayurveda invite us to listen.

Balance as a Practice, Not a Destination

Ayurveda teaches that balance is not static. It changes with the seasons, the time of day, our age, our environment, and what we’re experiencing emotionally and physically. What supports us in one phase of life may not serve us in another.

Yoga, when practiced mindfully, becomes a tool for noticing these shifts. Some days call for movement and strength; others ask for stillness, rest, or simply conscious breathing. Neither is better — both are necessary.

Rhythm, Nourishment, and Modern Life

During our conversation, we explored how nourishment goes far beyond what we eat. Nourishment can be found in the way we breathe, how we rest, the routines we create, and the boundaries we hold.

Ayurveda reminds us that living in rhythm — with daylight, seasons, and our own energy — is deeply supportive for the nervous system. In a fast-paced modern world, these small, intentional pauses can be profoundly regulating.

An Invitation to Pause

This episode is a gentle reminder that balance does not look the same for everyone. It is personal, fluid, and ever-changing.

If you’ve been feeling out of sync, tired, or disconnected, this conversation offers a soft place to land — and perhaps a new way of relating to balance, not as something to fix, but as something to tend to with care.
